Our Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) division is actively seeking talented professionals to join us at the managerial level. This practice merges the advantages of a public accounting firm with the daily operations in private company settings.

We deliver accounting, technology, and consulting services to private clients in the lower middle market, specifically those with revenues ranging from $0 to $100 million. Essentially, we serve as the accounting department for our clients.

Our diverse portfolio spans various industries, including technology, life sciences, non-profit organizations, consumer goods, and professional services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of accounting and finance functions for multiple clients in a shared services environment, acting as the Controller and CFO.
  • Engage in end-to-end Grant Management.
  • Participate in client design sessions to assess requirements and refine business processes aligned with FAO best practices.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor client service representatives, associates, senior associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Review and analyze clients' monthly financial statements, including variance analysis.
  • Provide actionable insights and decision support based on financial information.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for operational enhancements and suggest process improvements.
  • Understand our technology stack and identify additional processes and systems that can enhance month-end close efficiencies.
  • Establish engagement budgets and direct the onboarding of new FAO clients.
  • Draft service agreements and statements of work.
  • Participate in meetings with prospective clients and in the proposal process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with federal government awards and grant management is essential.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm, consulting firm, or similar professional services environment is preferred.
  • Progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, such as accounting manager, assistant controller, or CFO.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and management accounting.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with automated accounting systems is a plus.
