Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Nutritionist to join our team at the Florida Department of Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of our community through nutrition education and counseling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certify clients and identify nutrition risks based on assessment of nutrition questionnaire, health data, and health history.
  • Provide and document client-centered nutrition education, goals, and referrals.
  • Focus on meeting the needs of medically high-risk clients.
  • Develop, document, and implement nutrition care plans based on assessments of nutrition needs and other current health plans.
  • Provide WIC nutrition assessments and counseling to clients on normal and therapeutic diets.
  • Assist in ensuring proper clinic operations and perform supervisory functions as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree or master's degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Home Economics with emphasis in Nutrition.
  • Valid State of Florida License as a Dietitian/Nutritionist issued by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Valid Florida Drivers' License is required to obtain reimbursement for travel according to policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish or English and Creole preferred, but not necessary.
