Job Title: Senior Public Health Nutritionist

Join the State of Florida in promoting health and wellness across the state. As a Senior Public Health Nutritionist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing nutrition policies and programs that benefit the community.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) and Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) classes in the community.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate activities that prevent, control, and reduce chronic disease.
  • Identify nutrition and diabetes awareness and prevention programs to provide interventions to treat and reduce obesity and co-morbidities.
  • Provide licensed nutrition services as needed for class participants in our programs.
  • Promote Health Literacy, Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME), Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), Blood Pressure Management (BP for Me), and Get into Fitness Today (GIFT) programs through outreach to medical providers, community partners, and organizations.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships in the community.
Requirements:
  • Valid State of Florida License as a Dietitian/Nutritionist issued by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
  • Experience preparing health-related materials such as reports, brochures, etc.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience providing outreach in the community and to physicians.
  • Experience providing nutrition education seminars to the community.
  • Experience with providing diabetes self-management education and chronic disease prevention/management classes.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish.
