Talkdesk is seeking a highly driven, analytical, and passionate Senior Financial Analyst to become a key member of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role requires a blend of financial acumen, practical knowledge of financial statements, and the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making. The successful candidate will engage in various financial planning and analysis activities to support strategic initiatives, drive growth, and achieve financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic insights and actionable recommendations to R&D leaders and executives, influencing business decisions and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Provide analytical and operational support in financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and annual planning processes.
  • Generate dynamic monthly and quarterly management reports, analyzing financial outcomes, identifying key trends, assessing business risks, and communicating insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop financial models and pinpoint opportunities to optimize cloud infrastructure and carrier expenses.
  • Collaborate with budget owners to analyze software usage and expenditure trends.
  • Innovate new processes and tools to facilitate scalable analysis and insights.
  • Create strategic reports and present scenario models for effective resource allocation to projects/products to senior leadership.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to assist management in evaluating the impact of decisions on both short-term and long-term plans.
  • Embed within business units to build trust, foster relationships, and gain a comprehensive understanding of relevant drivers.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant finance experience preferred; experience in SaaS is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial and operational planning capabilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and experience navigating ambiguity or unknown datasets, with a proactive approach to influencing stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, emphasizing collaboration with various business leaders.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Expertise in constructing Excel-based financial models, focusing on data aggregation and analysis to provide actionable insights.
  • Approach tasks with curiosity, attention to detail, and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance concepts and accounting principles.
  • Experience with financial and ERP systems, such as Adaptive Insights and Netsuite.
  • Experience supporting R&D organizations and forecasting/analyzing cloud infrastructure costs is preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This role primarily involves office-based work, with extended periods of sitting or standing and computer-related tasks. Limited lifting is required, and equipment usage is restricted to computer-related devices (keyboards, mouse, etc.).
