Accounting and Finance Internship Opportunity

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting or finance student to join our team as an intern. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and finance, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, project accounting, and internal audit.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Perform journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations
  • Support in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, tax, internal audit, and consolidation accounting
  • Assist with research and planning according to generally accepted accounting principles and current tax laws
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to the development of new skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance at an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1-year commitment (including summer) to the internship position
  • Motivated and self-directed individual with strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
