Assistant Athletic Coach, Women's Golf Team Lead

Babson College seeks a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Athletic Coach to join our Department of Athletics and Recreation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the head coach in the management and direction of the women's golf program.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Collaborate with the head coach to develop and implement strategies for the women's golf program, including planning and coaching practice sessions and games.
- Student-Athlete Support: Counsel students on general and sport-related matters, make referrals to appropriate student support resources, and serve as a mentor to athletes.
- Academic Support: Assist in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, collaborate with class deans, and make themselves available to coaches and players before, during, and after practices, games, and events.
- Liaison and Communication: Develop and maintain liaison relationships with various departments to facilitate program development and management for student-athletes.
- Recruitment and Scouting: Assist the head coach in scouting opponents, preparing, planning, conducting, and evaluating practice sessions, and recruiting student-athletes.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assume additional secondary responsibilities in the department as required by the AVP, Athletics and Athletic Advancement.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: At least 1-3 years of previous coaching experience
- Certifications and Training: Hepatitis B vaccination, training in compliance with OSHA regulations, and current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use
- Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to work with a diverse student body, staff, and other constituents, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Physical Demands: Regular physical exertion, walking, and exposure to weather are required; light lifting required (50 pounds and under)
- Travel: Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, and to travel in person and stay overnight for all regular and post-season games, recruiting, conferences, and tournaments as identified and directed by the Head Coach.
