  1. Clear Expectations: We believe that students thrive when they understand the boundaries and expectations set for them. All staff members are responsible for clearly communicating academic and behavioral standards through straightforward procedures and guidelines.
  2. Consistent Responses: Recognizing that students experience a range of emotions, we maintain consistency in addressing behaviors to ensure fairness and provide a secure environment where justice and equity prevail.
  3. Building Connections: We understand that students flourish when they feel a sense of belonging and can establish meaningful relationships with the adults in their school community. Our staff is committed to fostering positive interactions rooted in respect and understanding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with all Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
  • Review and finalize IEPs, 504 Plans, and FBAs within designated timelines.
  • Develop and manage an IEP meeting schedule, ensuring timely notifications and procedural safeguards are communicated.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and monitor the effectiveness of special education services.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Oversee special education referrals and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes.
  • Support and supervise related service providers in their documentation and student interactions, including collaboration with school psychologists, nurses, speech pathologists, and social workers.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Illinois Teaching License (PEL or ELS) with Learning Behavior Specialist I endorsement (LBSI) or an equivalent out-of-state Special Education teaching license.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
