Summary:
This role involves delivering First Steps services, which encompass Maternity Support and Infant Case Management, as part of a collaborative team that includes Public Health Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Social Workers, and Community Health Workers. The Nutritionist will conduct nutrition assessments and provide education, breastfeeding support, and case management to both individuals and groups, ensuring a client-centered approach through various service delivery methods.

Program Overview:
The First Steps initiative within Parent-Child Health integrates Maternity Support Services and Infant Case Management, facilitated by a multidisciplinary team. Each professional discipline contributes to the comprehensive range of services, tailored to their specific expertise.

Work Schedule:
The standard work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with potential adjustments based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct nutrition services to a diverse client base.
• Facilitate group and individual nutrition education, including breastfeeding support.
• Collect and evaluate information to assess health and nutrition risks, eligibility, and referrals.
• Conduct individual nutrition assessments and develop care plans based on findings.
• Monitor the evolving needs of high-risk clients, particularly pregnant and breastfeeding individuals and infants.
• Collaborate with team members and healthcare providers to coordinate care and referrals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives for service delivery.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
• Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition.
• Certification as a Dietitian in Washington State or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience in providing direct nutrition services.

Desired:
• Experience with First Steps services.
• Bilingual capabilities in English/Spanish or other relevant languages.
• Background in group nutrition education and community resource networking.
