Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver medical nutrition therapy aligned with patient objectives and clinical conditions. This position also involves providing ongoing consultation to the nutrition and foodservice director through routine nutrition quality assurance evaluations, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for all patients utilizing the Nutrition Care Process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, evaluation), leveraging relevant data to formulate individualized nutrition plans.
2. Specialize in care tailored to age-specific populations, cultural, religious, and ethnic needs.
3. Perform Nutrition-Focused Physical Examinations and conduct nutrition interviews on a regular basis. Evaluate the suitability of therapeutic diets.
4. Develop and/or assess enteral and parenteral nutrition prescriptions, providing recommendations as necessary.
5. Evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and modify as clinically indicated to support desired outcomes.
6. Participate in facility Nutrition at Risk (NAR) meetings to evaluate individuals at higher risk who require consistent interdisciplinary team assessments.
7. Maintain regular communication with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) through meetings and other communication methods. Organize and announce departmental meeting schedules as required.
8. Execute administrative tasks such as completing necessary documentation, reports, and nutrition quality assurance audits to ensure compliance with dietary department policies and state and federal regulations.

Collaboration:
Work alongside the food service director to ensure that food service staff adhere to safe and sanitary practices while providing meals as prescribed.

Education and Licensure Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a closely related field, along with the completion of a dietetic internship accredited by the Accreditation Council of Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Maintain Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), including ongoing education requirements.
Dietitian license and/or certification must be obtained within a specified timeframe from the date of hire, depending on the state providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT).

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience in clinical dietetics is preferred.
Possess the ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet clinical expectations, function independently, and make informed decisions with minimal assistance.
A reliable means of transportation is required to reach the facility under various weather conditions.
