Job Summary:

The Mathematics Educator plays a crucial role in guiding students through the mastery of mathematical concepts and skills, while simultaneously supporting their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing a curriculum that caters to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of students, aligning with established educational standards.
  • Employing a variety of instructional strategies to engage a diverse range of learners, tailored to the specific needs of individuals or groups.
  • Creating a classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and is suitable for the maturity and interests of students.
  • Establishing reasonable classroom behavior guidelines and maintaining order consistently and fairly.
  • Directing the learning process towards achieving curriculum objectives, setting clear goals for all educational activities, and effectively communicating these goals to students.
  • Regularly assessing student progress and providing necessary reports as required.
  • Collaborating with other educational staff to identify, educate, and address individual student needs.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records as mandated by regulations and policies.
  • Assisting administration in enforcing all policies and rules governing student conduct.
  • Being available for educational support to students and parents.
  • Continuously striving to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Conducting classes at assigned times and locations.
  • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to committees.
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities provided by Wolcott.
  • Demonstrating responsibility in fulfilling duties accurately and promptly.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Mathematics or a related field.

Certifications:

A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work positively with students and adults.
  • Capacity to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day instructional and supervisory situations effectively.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical requirements of this position include standing, walking, sitting, bending, writing, typing, speaking, and listening.
