Key Responsibilities- Design and Facilitate Professional Development: Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics professional development in K-12 mathematics, focusing on effective instructional strategies and best practices.
- Support Instructional Materials Implementation: Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement high-quality instructional materials in K-12 mathematics, ensuring alignment with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS-M).
- Provide Classroom Support: Offer coaching, mentoring, and co-teaching to support teachers in effective instructional practices, with a focus on modeling and facilitating student-centered learning.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with administrators, teachers, and district leaders to develop and implement effective program infrastructure, including grade-level meetings, peer observations, and vertical team meetings.
- Facilitate Lesson Planning and Student Work Analysis: Collaborate with teachers to plan and analyze student work, ensuring alignment with CCSS-M and promoting student growth and achievement.
- Design and Deliver Professional Development Experiences: Work with project team members to design and deliver high-quality professional development experiences for project teachers and administrators, focusing on mathematics education and instructional coaching.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field; at least three years of experience teaching mathematics in middle grades or high school; strong knowledge of successful, research-based teaching strategies.
- Qualifications: Minimum three years teaching experience in mathematics; familiarity with research-based mathematics curricula and CCSS-M; experience and expertise in middle-grades and/or secondary-level mathematics; ability to work effectively with adult learners in professional development and instructional coaching contexts.
- Certifications and Licenses: Current teaching license or endorsement in secondary mathematics or middle-grades mathematics preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required, familiarity with MS Office Suite or similar, familiarity with online form creation and basic use of cloud-based systems.
