We are currently seeking a skilled Laboratory IT Support Specialist for a significant contract opportunity. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of laboratory operations and ensuring compliance with established protocols.

Position Overview:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with Lab System Owners, IT Teams, and Management.
  • Updating and managing the Regulatory Asset Management systems to reflect the inventory of laboratory equipment, computers, software, and other critical information.
  • Maintaining consistent communication regarding project-related tasks with the team.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, and Work Instructions to ensure compliance.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical inquiries.
  • Facilitating user account setups and password resets within controlled environments.
  • Addressing non-change control break-fix issues.
  • Executing Change Controls as required.
  • Performing like-for-like replacements, including hard drive cloning.
  • Assisting with Preventative Maintenance as needed.
  • Participating in PER requests, SOP Field Testing, and SLC Reviews.
  • Supporting investigations and software upgrades, as well as onboarding new equipment.
  • Occasionally serving as backup for On-Call Support rotations.

  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with strong listening and interpretative skills.
  • Professional demeanor complemented by exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to troubleshoot complex technological challenges.
  • Effective time management skills with minimal supervision to meet objectives.
  • Ability to identify, track, and complete tasks across multiple projects within set timeframes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in system support.
  • Familiarity with scientific instrumentation in controlled environments is preferred.
  • Experience in laboratory settings is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to remain stationary for extended periods and perform extensive walking within facility premises.
  • Willingness to travel between designated sites as necessary.
  • Ability to work in clean room environments, including gowning for classified areas.
  • Regular operation of instruments and tools requiring bending, squatting, and stretching.
  • Frequent use of computers and office machinery.
  • Specific vision abilities necessary for detailed observation and focus adjustments.
