We are currently seeking a skilled Laboratory IT Support Specialist for a significant contract opportunity. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory systems and is based in a dynamic environment. Below are the details of the position.

Job ID:

Compensation: $25 - $28/hour. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave, depending on the work location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with Laboratory System Owners, IT Teams, and Management.
  • Maintain and update the Regulatory Asset Management systems inventory for laboratory equipment, computers, software, and other relevant information.
  • Communicate daily regarding project-related tasks with the team.
  • Ensure compliance by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, and Work Instructions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical matters.
  • Manage user account setups and password resets in controlled environments.
  • Handle non-change control break fixes.
  • Execute Change Controls as required.
  • Perform like-for-like replacements, including hard drive cloning.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct PER requests, SOP Field Testing, and SLC Reviews.
  • Support investigations and assist with software upgrades and onboarding of new equipment.
  • Occasionally provide backup support for the On-Call Support rotation.

Key Requirements and Experience:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a strong ability to listen and interpret client needs.
  • Professional demeanor, excellent listening abilities, superior analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Ability to manage time effectively with minimal supervision to meet objectives.
  • Capable of identifying, tracking, and completing tasks for multiple projects within set timeframes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in system support.
  • Experience with scientific instruments in controlled environments is recommended.
  • 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking within various process areas is required.
  • Some travel between sites may be necessary.
  • Ability to navigate laboratory environments requiring clean room training and gowning.
  • Regular operation of instruments and tools, necessitating bending, squatting, and stretching.
  • Frequent use of computers and office machinery.
  • Specific vision abilities are required for this position, including the ability to observe details at close range and adjust focus.
