Position Overview

**This role is designated for a location in support of LOGCAP**

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will report to the Recruiting Supervisor and will handle a comprehensive range of tasks associated with sourcing and hiring personnel for the LOGCAP V initiative, along with other field-based projects as necessary. This role involves regular collaboration with department leaders to proactively identify future staffing needs. The Specialist will exercise independent judgment in selecting the most qualified candidates and will work closely with leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals, strategies, and values through established methods and policies.

The Specialist will conduct interviews and screen candidates for technical proficiency, relevant experience, personal aspirations, and cultural fit within the organization, ultimately making hiring decisions. The position primarily focuses on the recruitment of non-exempt and non-supervisory roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment initiatives for roles within the LOGCAP V project and travel to various locations as needed to facilitate recruitment activities.
  • Support team members during peak recruitment phases or when additional resources are required.
  • Source, screen, interview, and evaluate qualified candidates for hiring managers. Provide initial assessments of candidates' relevant skills and experiences.
  • Review job descriptions to ensure they contain accurate and appealing information for advertisements and postings.
  • Act as a talent advisor, sharing best practices in recruitment with client groups while continuously monitoring the external job market for competitive insights.
  • Proactively develop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill or unique positions while adhering to hiring protocols.
  • Maintain a proactive recruitment pace aimed at reducing the time taken to fill vacancies.
  • Track candidate progress and provide follow-up communications at the conclusion of the recruitment process.
  • Manage all candidate information within the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Accelerate the hiring process for critical roles by implementing effective recruitment strategies.
  • Identify and resolve challenges by analyzing data, exploring alternatives, and taking on additional responsibilities as necessary.
  • Exhibit a responsible work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain high customer service standards with internal stakeholders, including executing hiring strategies for newly posted positions.
  • Foster strong relationships with candidates, ensuring all internal applications are reviewed promptly.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, transition seminars, and other recruitment events across various locations, including potential overseas travel.
  • Oversee background checks, employment verifications, visa processes, and reference checks for candidates.
  • Arrange and schedule pre-employment assessments as required.
  • Consult with the Strength Management Team and hiring managers regarding job vacancies, candidate selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Advise hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques, talent acquisition processes, and retention strategies.
  • Build strong, trustworthy relationships with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and ensure timely presentation of high-quality candidates.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Strategic Staffing Team to enhance recruitment efficiency and performance.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new members of the Strategic Staffing Team.
  • Develop candidate pipelines for anticipated program awards.
  • Complete additional HR-related tasks as assigned.
  • Incumbent will establish procedures for a variety of duties or perform complex tasks within established guidelines.
  • This position may require travel up to 25% for both domestic and international assignments.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
    • Ability to obtain a favorable T1 Background investigation; CAC eligibility is required.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in recruiting for LOGCAP or similar government contracts is essential.
    • A minimum of two (2) years of direct recruiting experience is required, including proactive sourcing methods such as diversity recruiting, cold calling, and networking.
    • Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, and accountability.
    • Experience collaborating with and influencing senior hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
    • Proven ability to develop strategies for challenging-to-fill positions.
    • Proficient in HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Candidate Management Systems (CMS).
    • Knowledge of OFCCP, Sarbanes Oxley, and DCAA guidelines is essential.
    • Demonstrated success in meeting metrics such as time-to-fill, retention rates, and diversity of candidate pools.
    • Proven track record in recruiting and placing passive candidates.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the full-cycle recruiting process.
    • Experience utilizing creative sourcing techniques and maintaining a network of top-tier talent.

  • Travel Requirements:
    • This position may require travel up to 25% for both domestic and international assignments, including potential deployment to austere and hazardous locations.
    • Must be prepared to deploy to various locations, including temporary assignments as part of the Vectrus Rapid Deployment Team (RDT).
  • Working Conditions:
    • Primarily office-based work, with occasional outdoor duties that may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and challenging environments.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • May involve heavy lifting, climbing, prolonged standing, and working in environments with potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain situations.
    • Compliance with all fire and safety regulations is mandatory.
