This role is focused on supporting the LOGCAP program in various capacities.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports directly to the Recruiting Supervisor and is responsible for a comprehensive range of tasks related to sourcing and hiring personnel for the LOGCAP V initiative and associated field projects. This position involves regular collaboration with department heads to proactively identify future staffing needs. The Specialist is empowered to make independent decisions regarding the selection of the most qualified candidates, ensuring alignment with V2X's strategic goals, mission, and vision through established strategies and policies.
The Specialist will conduct interviews and screenings to evaluate candidates' technical skills, relevant experience, personal objectives, and cultural fit within the organization, ultimately making hiring recommendations. The role primarily focuses on non-exempt and non-supervisory recruitment.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a temporary position expected to last for a minimum of three months, subject to customer requirements.
This job description may be modified as necessary to meet program or organizational needs.
- Lead recruitment initiatives for positions within the LOGCAP V project and travel to various locations as needed.
- Support team members during recruitment surges or phase-in periods.
- Source, screen, interview, and assess qualified candidates for hiring managers, providing initial evaluations of applicants' relevant knowledge and skills.
- Review job descriptions to ensure they contain appropriate information for advertisements and postings.
- Act as a talent advisor, offering best practices in recruitment to client groups and continuously researching the external market to stay informed about competitive practices.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies for challenging-to-fill positions while adhering to hiring processes.
- Maintain a fast-paced recruitment approach to reduce time-to-fill for open positions.
- Track candidate statuses and send follow-up communications at the conclusion of the recruitment process.
- Manage all candidate information within the Applicant Tracking System.
- Accelerate the hiring process for critical roles through aggressive recruitment strategies.
- Analyze data to identify solutions and alternatives when circumstances change.
- Exhibit a responsible work style with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Maintain high customer service standards with internal stakeholders, including conducting hiring strategies for newly posted positions.
- Foster strong relationships with candidates, ensuring timely reviews of internal applications.
- Coordinate and participate in job fairs and other recruitment events across various locations.
- Oversee background checks, employment verifications, and reference checks for potential candidates.
- Schedule necessary pre-employment assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations.
- Consult with management regarding vacancies and candidate selection processes.
- Advise hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques and talent acquisition strategies.
- Build trusted relationships with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and ensure timely presentation of high-quality candidates.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Staffing Team to enhance recruitment efficiency and performance.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Develop candidate pipelines for upcoming program awards.
- Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.
- Develop procedures for various recruitment tasks within established guidelines.
- Travel may be required up to 25% for both domestic and international locations.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a favorable background investigation.
- Experience:
- Prior recruiting experience for government contracts, particularly LOGCAP, is essential.
- A minimum of two years of direct recruiting experience, including proactive sourcing techniques.
- Demonstrated integrity, strong work ethic, and accountability.
- Experience collaborating with senior hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Proficiency in HR databases and Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance guidelines.
- Proven ability to meet key recruitment metrics.
- Experience in recruiting passive candidates and utilizing creative sourcing methods.
- Skills:
- Proficient in MS Excel and online recruitment tools.
