Supervisory Role: Direct Support Professional

Work Hours: Full-time position with a flexible schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

The CHOICES Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations and providing guidance to residential staff and Program Specialists. The role is crucial in ensuring high-quality services for clients and maintaining the effective functioning of the residential facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Management

  • Supervise, support, and evaluate residential trainers.
  • Create staff schedules to guarantee 24-hour coverage.
  • Facilitate orientation and training for new residential staff.
  • Maintain open communication with Residential Managers and Directors.
  • Provide program-specific orientation for new trainers.

Client Services

  • Assist in executing Individual Service Plans and treatment strategies for residents.
  • Offer guidance and support to staff regarding participant services.
  • Model and observe the application of individual service plan objectives.
  • Plan and oversee participant activities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for open shifts.
  • Administer medications to participants as necessary.
  • Ensure documentation of narratives and incident reports.
  • Engage with parents before and after family visits.
  • Participate in meetings related to placements, annual ISP reviews, and discharges.
  • Attend program staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with meal planning and nutritional documentation for participants.

Participant Oversight

  • Ensure proper management of participants' SSI and wages within individual budgets.
  • Oversee participant purchasing to meet their needs.
  • Conduct annual inventory of clothing and personal items.
  • Ensure implementation of participants' objectives, goals, and rights restrictions.
  • Facilitate communication between participants, family, and friends.
  • Monitor medication administration and documentation.

Facility Management

  • Uphold cleanliness standards within the facility.
  • Ensure safe working conditions.
  • Comply with health, safety, and fire regulations.
  • Identify and communicate facility needs to administrative staff.

Additional Duties

  • Provide transportation services as required.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills & Competencies

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred in counseling, social work, or a related field.

Experience: At least two years of relevant experience, including one year in a residential setting or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Skills: Strong communication skills and management abilities are essential. The individual must be capable of working with adolescents and understanding their developmental needs.

Certifications: A valid Driver's License is required.

Other Requirements: Position requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment in performing duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Ability to stand, walk, sit, manipulate objects, reach, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend regularly.

B. Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100lbs routinely.
