Job Summary

Southeastern Directions for Life is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our community group homes, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and providing transportation for appointments and activities
  • Completing assessments and documentation for ISP meetings
  • Participating in pre-meetings and team discussions
  • Monitoring clients' finances and managing budgets
  • Developing and implementing behavior programs and quarterly reports
  • Providing direct care and support to individuals in their homes
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to collaborative problem-solving

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in human services or education preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in a related field; applicants with relevant certifications or training will be considered
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work holidays and weekends as needed; ability to assume challenges and responsibilities
  • Current driver's license, car insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Southeastern's insurance provider
  • Pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, Department of Social Services Central Registry check, Motor Vehicle background check, and drug screening
