Objective:

The primary focus of this role is to lead the implementation of established category strategies at a local level. This position oversees the Operational Procurement Team and seeks to identify and leverage opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and enhancements in service delivery. The role involves providing strategic guidance and direction to the local team to effectively execute procurement strategies that yield these advantages. Building robust and effective relationships with internal stakeholders, the local/regional category team, and external suppliers is essential to facilitate the successful execution of procurement initiatives and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the defined category strategy at a local level, collaborating closely with the Local Category Manager and Divisional Procurement team.
  • Identify and enable opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and service enhancements, providing strategic direction to the local team for effective procurement execution.
  • Drive annual budgeted cost savings, margin enhancements, and other procurement benefits utilizing best-in-class procurement methodologies.
  • Deliver monthly reports on savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects through the development of an effective Procurement Management dashboard (KPIs).
  • Align procurement and portfolio strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Take overall responsibility for delivering the procurement category strategy and plans across all channels, supported by sourcing strategy, supplier negotiation, selection, and evaluation.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure value delivery through growth.
  • Achieve profitability targets through effective procurement practices.
  • Analyze and interpret results, trends, and market conditions to drive procurement performance.
  • Apply advanced procurement principles to achieve optimal cost outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are required.
