Estimating Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading mechanical contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead their preconstruction efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain estimating tools and processes to ensure accurate estimates and alignment with company goals.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing estimating team, focusing on talent acquisition, skill development, and labor forecasting.
  • Collaborate with sales to present cost-saving strategies and develop project cost narratives addressing risk and marketability.
  • Manage estimating department KPIs, oversee budget, and optimize team resources through labor forecasting and skill development.
  • Prioritize risk identification, communication, and management through fee modeling, cost analysis, and clear project documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of construction industry experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams with strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and expertise in project management, estimating, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with Lean construction principles and innovative technologies is a plus.
