Job Title: Montessori Primary Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Montessori Primary Assistant to join our team at Breakthrough Montessori PCS. As a key member of our academic staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the Montessori Primary Guide in creating a structured, student-centered learning environment that fosters the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and coordinating the Montessori classroom
  • Maintain a prepared learning environment according to the developmental and curricular specifications outlined in the Montessori Scope & Sequence
  • Support students with their use of Montessori materials and set limits and boundaries to maintain high standards for child behavior
  • Observe student activity and provide lesson support based on observed needs and interests
  • Participate in weekly group coaching meetings and complete record-keeping tasks for individual children and the group
  • Support literacy programming and reading growth through multiple methods, including individual and small group instruction
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, school leadership, and parents/families to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Classroom assisting experience, preferably in a Montessori environment and/or with young children
  • Experience collaborating and working as an assistant
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a diverse team of educators
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to our vision and mission
