Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in the wine industry. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in our financial operations, overseeing the accounting operations of various entities, managing all aspects of the general ledger, and conducting complex financial analysis to highlight key business issues and performance indicators.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the accounting operations of various entities, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Conduct complex financial analysis to highlight key business issues and performance indicators.
  • Handle insurance renewals and manage federal and state excise taxes.
  • Analyze production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize NetSuite software for financial management and operations.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Forecast and plan future financial activities for the company.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in the wine industry.
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple entities and dealing with complex financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting and managing general ledger.
  • Experience with insurance renewals and managing federal and state excise taxes.
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite software or equivalent financial management software.
  • Strong forecasting abilities and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
