Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is essential in managing product excellence and ensuring adherence to food safety protocols and regulations. This role is a vital component of the Food Safety team within the organization. The QA Specialist reports directly to the QA Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform inspections on incoming and finished goods, along with daily Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) assessments.
  • Oversee critical control points within the facility and maintain precise daily documentation.
  • Conduct daily pre-operational inspections and evaluate returned items.
  • Administer product holds when necessary and supervise appropriate disposal or reconditioning processes.
  • Monitor environmental temperatures in production and storage areas.
  • Responsible for the calibration of thermometers on a weekly basis and daily scale calibrations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, regulatory standards, and GMPs.
  • Assist in training personnel on food safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate actively as a member of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) team.
  • Maintain accurate records of all labels utilized and manage the check-in and check-out of knives daily.
  • Support production operations as needed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and Critical Control Points.
  • Strong written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in demanding schedules and diverse conditions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and effective communication with varied groups.
  • Team-oriented with a positive demeanor and the ability to lead by example.
  • Adaptability to the evolving requirements of a production setting.
  • Understanding of production processes.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00.
