SeamonWhiteside is seeking a driven and skilled individual to take on the role of a Civil Engineering Project Manager. This position is pivotal in our expanding office.

The Civil Engineering Project Manager will advance in their career while honing their expertise in managing projects, teams, and client relationships. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in civil engineering design, project oversight, and leadership, along with exceptional client interaction abilities.

The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall success of assigned civil engineering projects, which encompasses financial management of project budgets, adherence to timelines, addressing client requirements, liaising with regulatory bodies, and ensuring the quality of all civil design outputs. This role also involves mentoring junior team members and demonstrating leadership both within the organization and in public engagements. Continuous professional development through mentorship from senior leaders is encouraged.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.

Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably with a design firm or in construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate project coordination meetings with clients, team members, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Oversee the preparation of project permitting submissions for agency reviews.
  • Develop and review technical specifications for projects.
  • Compile technical reports related to civil infrastructure design.
  • Coordinate project workloads among team members.
  • Make independent engineering design decisions and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Lead the design and permitting processes for essential infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in construction administration for projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Engage with clients and contractors to resolve field issues and manage project closeout.
  • Participate in community involvement initiatives that enhance business development.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Desired Skills
  • Completion of the Professional Engineer (P.E.) exam is preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Understanding of project proposals, permitting processes, and budget management.
  • Ability to collaborate with external consultants.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency in managing civil design projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong client engagement and business development skills.
  • Experience in conducting quality assurance and quality control reviews.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive construction documents.
  • Familiarity with the project closeout process.
  • Participation in strategic initiatives and committees.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience working with municipal entities is advantageous.
