Position: Aquatic Safety Supervisor (Yawkey)Position Summary:This role is crucial in ensuring a secure atmosphere, enforcing all aquatic regulations, and adhering to established emergency protocols.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Aquatics Director/Head Lifeguard to uphold a secure environment, in line with all safety regulations. Enforce all aquatic rules and be well-versed in emergency procedures.
  • Assist in executing age-appropriate activities, including support with swimming lessons for diverse age groups.
  • Help supervise and guide campers engaged in programs and services within the aquatic area as well as throughout the facility as necessary.
  • Engage in joint programs, events, and excursions with personnel from other clubhouse groups, staff from different BGCB locations, and community organizations as appropriate.
  • Evaluating our impact is essential to our mission. All staff are expected to take part in various assessment initiatives throughout each program year, including the annual member feedback survey.
  • Ensure the security and upkeep of materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the aquatic area(s). Maintain a safe and orderly program area(s).
  • Travel between locations and to activities as required.
  • Other related responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Director.

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demand):
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Lifesaving certification required.
  • Preferred experience as a lifeguard; at minimum, experience working with children/youth.
  • Understanding of youth development principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to engage with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Job Type: Seasonal (Full-Time)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Pay Range: $22 - $25 (Depending on Relevant Experience & Internal Equity)
