About the Position

We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor II to support our community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). As a key member of our team, you will work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans, educate them about supportive networks, and review treatment progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
  • Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum, leading and participating in face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other therapeutic processes.
  • Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectations for participation and completion.
  • Work directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate them about supportive networks as they return to the community.
  • Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records.
  • Collaborate with transition/reentry staff, plans, and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree or above in a social service-related field, and Licensed by, or registered with, the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS, or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field and AOD certified, or
  • An Associate's Degree in social service-related field, AOD certified, and six (6) months of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor, or
  • AOD certified and one (1) to two (2) years of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor.
