Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). As a Civil Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of LNG facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering-related data in applications for proposed LNG facilities
  • Perform civil engineering-related calculations required for site-specific reviews of LNG facilities
  • Conduct authorization final design reviews for proposed LNG facilities
  • Inspect the construction of LNG facilities
  • Conduct technical reviews for operational LNG facilities
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • One-year probationary period may be required
  • Background investigation required
  • Must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in analyzing engineering designs for foundations and structures, as well as performing safety, reliability, and engineering analyses for petrochemical, nuclear, or industrial facilities.
