We are currently seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the evening shift at our specialty central fill location.
Shift Details: Evening, 11am-7:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of computerized, written, and telephonic physician medication orders, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Clarify any ambiguous or incomplete orders through direct communication with healthcare providers.
- Advise physicians on nonformulary and restricted medications, suggesting suitable alternatives when necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in covering all pharmacy areas, including inpatient, outpatient, mobile pharmacy services, IV preparations, and chemotherapy.
- Engage in drug utilization evaluations and quality assurance initiatives, performing clinical interventions and participating in interdisciplinary rounds.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding their medication regimens and potential food/drug interactions.
- Deliver accurate drug information to physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and students, ensuring the precision of their work prior to dispensing.
- Stay informed on all policies and procedures through active participation in staff meetings and internal communications.
- Maintain a valid State of Pennsylvania pharmacist license and fulfill continuing education requirements.
- Keep abreast of advancements in pharmacy practice through ongoing education and training.
- Adhere to all accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety standards relevant to the practice setting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the pharmacy department and healthcare system.
Qualifications:
- Active PA Pharmacist license (Required)
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution (Required)
