As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the evening shift, you will be stationed at our specialty central fill location, providing essential medication management services to our patients.

Shift Details: Evening, 11am-7:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately reviews and interprets physician medication orders, ensuring patient safety by checking for allergies, dosages, interactions, and polypharmacy.
  • Communicates directly with physicians to clarify any ambiguous or incomplete orders.
  • Advises on nonformulary and restricted medications, suggesting suitable alternatives when necessary.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all pharmacy areas, including inpatient and outpatient services, IV admixtures, and chemotherapy preparations.
  • Engages in drug utilization evaluations and quality assurance initiatives, performing clinical interventions as needed.
  • Provides patient counseling regarding medication therapies and potential food/drug interactions.
  • Delivers accurate drug information to healthcare team members, including physicians and nursing staff.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians and students, ensuring the precision of their work.
  • Maintains compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stays informed on advancements in pharmacy practice through continuous education and participation in relevant programs.
  • Upholds the values and standards of Penn Medicine in all professional activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist license (Required)
  • Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution (Required)
