Your Role
This position is a full-time evening shift role, requiring work every third weekend and two holidays during winter and summer.

The Pharmacy Support Specialist is a provisional title for pharmacy personnel who are engaged in any pharmacy sector without the necessary pharmacy technician certification.

Individuals in this role must obtain certification within six months of employment to maintain their position and transition into a permanent pharmacy technician role.

Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Support Specialist, your duties will include:

  • Restocking and organizing medications
  • Preparing medications for distribution
  • Managing phone inquiries effectively
  • Processing medication orders
  • Delivering medications to designated areas
  • Regularly rotating medication inventory and monitoring for expired products
  • Performing tasks in alignment with Penn Medicine's values, policies, and procedures
  • Executing additional responsibilities as required to support the unit, department, and health system.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of six months of pharmacy experience. Pharmacy technician certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
