Job Summary

The Senior Sales Tax Analyst will be responsible for ensuring all occupancy, sales, use, personal property and property tax requirements are met while adhering to the company's policies and procedures. This role will provide office coverage to train, guide and assist tax analysts, manage the onboarding process for new properties, and lead the variance resolving process in tax account reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Review monthly tax worksheets prepared by the tax analysts
• Provide office coverage to train, guide and assist tax analysts
• Manage the onboarding process for new properties and offer training and ongoing support after transition
• Lead the variance resolving process in tax account reconciliation
• Manage sales, local and property tax return filings for the assigned properties
• Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure that the company is following all state and local tax law as it relates to sales and property tax filings
• Oversee all tax-related filings and related payments for the designated properties
• Collect, review for accuracy and store property backup for tax exemptions
• In charge of data entry, validation, and processing of various types of returns
• Track the status of all tax returns taking place for the assigned properties
• Be active on the customer service front and be quick and accurate with communication
• Assist outside consultants regarding property tax protest filings
• Assist with all sales and local tax audits

Requirements

• BA degree in accounting or 5+ years of accounting experience
• Possesses strong organizational skills, must be multi-task and detailed oriented, and have a track record of meeting deadlines and delivering on goals
