Position Summary:

This advanced role is designed to assist the engineering and construction team within the Permian facilities, operating with minimal oversight. The incumbent will deliver cost engineering services and support engineers with daily operational tasks. Key responsibilities encompass data management, analytical assessments, workflow optimization, development and enhancement of processes/tools, scheduling, project evaluations, periodic metric reporting, and data analysis. The role demands a blend of analytical initiatives and procedural responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive technical support throughout all stages of facilities engineering and construction projects.
  • Assist project managers and internal stakeholders with tailored reporting and specific project needs.
  • Establish and maintain databases and processes for the analysis conducted by the facilities engineering team.
    1. Prepare data analytics for inclusion in management presentations.
  • Exhibit proficiency in cost engineering methodologies, including budgeting, forecasting, change management, earned value analysis, and contingency planning.
  • Oversee the creation and review of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) processes for the engineering team.
  • Deliver cost engineering services for projects, including reviewing estimates and tracking expenses.
    1. Clarify discrepancies between actual expenditures and the capital budget.
  • Facilitate schedule monitoring and performance metrics for capital initiatives.
  • Conduct analysis, track KPIs, and provide recommendations for the construction program and its vendors.
    1. Evaluate contractors/vendors based on performance metrics, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare financial outlook assumptions, capital budgets, and accrual updates at the company's designated intervals (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Perform project post-evaluations to compare actual outcomes against estimates, refining future estimating practices.
  • Manage internal project control processes across all project execution and reporting areas.
  • Develop enhanced processes and tools to bolster departmental functions.
  • Provide support to other functions as required, leveraging relevant skills.
  • Commit to safety and environmental compliance in all aspects of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerBI) and other engineering tools (SiteView, Spotfire, AFE Navigator, Execute, OpenInvoice).
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills to effectively handle tasks and allocate time for seamless execution of engineering and construction activities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, convey technical information, and report findings or issues.
  • Self-driven and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Capacity to anticipate the needs of colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, operators, and analysts to achieve construction and facilities objectives efficiently.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in an Analyst/Technician/Technologist role.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical support capacity within the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Education may substitute for experience and vice versa.
  • Proficiency in Spotfire and PowerBI software.
  • Experience with SiteView or similar reporting tools.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is conducted at a designated location with options for remote work on specified days.
  • Standard schedule includes a traditional 40-hour workweek or an alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays from Monday to Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday.
  • Travel to field locations may be necessary.
