The Strategic HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource management, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive work environment. This role demands a proactive approach, combining expertise in administration, compliance, analysis, and customer service to effectively address the needs of employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert guidance to the Executive Team on employment laws, HR best practices, and workforce issues that may influence business continuity or operations.
- Maintain robust hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures in strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including EEOC and OFCCP guidelines.
- Manage the recruitment process, utilizing company-approved systems (such as UKG) to ensure qualified candidates are selected through legally compliant methods.
- Develop and implement strategies for employee development and retention, leveraging internal programs and corporate resources.
- Ensure all field and office personnel, including union and non-union employees, supervisory and non-supervisory staff, complete mandatory compliance courses annually.
- Handle intakes for HR-related complaints or concerns, escalating complex issues to Corporate HR and Legal for thorough investigation and resolution.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding processes, including interviews, pre-employment screening, and documentation in accordance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop and maintain compliant annual Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 reports, VETS reports, and other required federal or state filings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records, ensuring compliance with company retention policies and all applicable legal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Payroll Team and CFO on payroll-related tasks such as group benefits administration, salary increases, PTO balances, and other compensation matters.
- Manage corporate benefit enrollments, changes, and billing for medical, dental, life insurance, and FSA plans, adhering to all applicable deadlines and regulations.
- Handle employee conflicts and process terminations in compliance with relevant state guidelines or collective bargaining agreements.
- Escalate high-risk situations to ensure timely and effective resolution.
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong understanding of HR principles and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in human resources management within a dynamic organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
