Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting and purchasing a wide range of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via walk-in and phone, providing product knowledge and pricing information.
  • Manage special orders and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Identify customer needs by clarifying requirements and specifications.
  • Retrieve products from the stockroom and finalize transactions efficiently.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Contribute to store cleanliness and uphold product presentation standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of retail experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move quickly to assist customers and pull orders.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing the physical demands of the role.
  • Ability to unload freight and stock shelves as needed.
  • Proficient in using hands for keyboarding and inventory lookup.
  • Must be able to answer phone calls and take customer orders.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full-time position with a standard workweek of 40 hours.
  • Starting pay at $24 per hour, with a pay range of $24 - $28 per hour.
  • Eligibility for a discretionary year-end bonus.
