Position: Battery Maintenance Specialist

Role Summary: Reporting directly to the Branch Service Manager, the Battery Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the upkeep, servicing, and support of specific battery systems and equipment at customer locations. This role emphasizes timely and cost-effective service to meet customer needs while fostering complete satisfaction through professional interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport and install batteries and chargers, ensuring proper setup of new equipment.
  • Visit customer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair battery equipment following established protocols, while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with established procedures and budgetary guidelines.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation and time records in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the service vehicle and uniforms in a clean and organized manner, ensuring an accurate inventory of tools and parts.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures while driving and working.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with service dispatchers and management to optimize labor revenue and efficiency within the work schedule.
  • Keep the service vehicle's interior and equipment organized and well-maintained.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other company activities as required.
  • Ensure uniforms are maintained to present a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, safety violations, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain a personal toolkit as required by the supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to enhance the customer experience.
  • Operate lift trucks for testing and demonstrations, following proper operational guidelines.
  • Exhibit professionalism in demeanor and communication, respecting customers and company personnel alike.
  • Be prepared for out-of-town travel and overnight stays as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, along with general equipment operation theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic diagrams and schematics.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.
