Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of forklift equipment, pallet jacks, chargers, batteries, and small conveyors
  • Maintenance of overhead dock doors, ramp dock levelers, construction repair, floor repair, office doors, and other facilities-related tasks
  • Light plumbing and carpentry assignments as needed
  • Metal projects for repairs, including racking
  • Interact with associates in a cooperative, constructive manner
  • Relay direction from Operations Manager to other assistants
  • Training on proper safety procedures and elimination of potential hazards
  • Exposure to various chemicals, including battery acid, lubricants, paint, and cleaning solvents
  • Perform routine, repetitive daily inspections and maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior
  • Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and construction work in basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, and carpets
  • Perform functions in construction, installation, and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, and other structures and items
  • Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinishing, including miscellaneous jobs
  • Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment
  • Understanding of hydraulic and other systems
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations

Requirements
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, voltage AC/DC, HVAC, pneumatics, blueprints, and mechanical building maintenance
  • Must have knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule if needed
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck, and other related motorized equipment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Working in a warehouse environment, including seasonal temperature variations and moderate noise level
Salary

From $22 an hour
