Job Overview

Qualis Corporation is in search of a Senior Training Developer to provide expertise and support to the United States Army Space and Missile Defense School (SMDS), a key component of the Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence (SMDCoE). The primary objectives of the School include:

  1. Educating and training leaders in Space and Missile Defense operations.
  2. Formulating Army Doctrine related to Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense.
  3. Creating individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations.
  4. Providing comprehensive training and education across the Army in Space and Missile Defense.
  5. Implementing the US Army's Quality Assurance Program to uphold educational and training standards for Soldiers and Civilians.

This role will be integral to the School's Division of Training and Doctrine (DOTD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Employ the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model to connect the operational landscape with tailored learning products across various domains.
  • Facilitate the development of collective learning resources for operational units engaged in space, high altitude, and missile defense missions.
  • Assist in the development and approval processes for the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) Standardized Mission Essential Task List (METL).
  • Conduct thorough analyses of space and missile defense tasks, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Implement training development in line with Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Utilize Training Development Capability (TDC) and other required databases to create training products for units and institutions.
  • Maintain certification in accordance with TR and the Staff and Faculty Development Program.
  • Design lesson plans, training materials, course content, and evaluation criteria.
  • Offer technical expertise in Army space and missile defense operations.
  • Document and validate training solutions for necessary approvals.
  • Prepare training requirements analysis documents, publications, and strategies as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in space, missile defense, training development, or related military fields.
  • Proficient understanding of the ADDIE model and its application.
  • Prior experience in training development is essential.
  • Familiarity with Space and Missile Defense fundamentals is required.
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint staffing processes is beneficial.
  • Strong coordination skills with external Federal and Government Agencies.
  • Experience in military operations is necessary.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to present information to senior officials effectively.
  • Understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
  • Capability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in writing System Training Plans (STRAP) and using the STRAP Writing Tool.
  • Relevant military occupational specialties (MOSQ) such as FA40, Space 200, or other pertinent courses.
  • Completion of Sensor Manager Qualification Course (SMQC) or Sensor Leadership Development Course (SMLDC).
  • Experience with Space Operations and/or Missile Defense capabilities.
Security Clearance

A security clearance at the Secret level is required. US Citizenship is mandatory for this position.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
