OneOncology is a leading provider of cancer care services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage internal and external physician scheduling to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Check in infusion patients and verify demographic information to ensure accurate billing and insurance processing.
- Manage incoming phone calls to the clinic, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, diagnostics, and treatments, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure that authorizations are obtained prior to treatment and that patients receive the necessary care and support.
- Work closely with the authorization specialist to resolve any issues that arise with orders or changes to orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization processes, and contracting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Attendance is an essential job function.
- Manage incoming calls into the Infusion Center, answering the phone within 3 rings professionally and courteously.
- Communication with the Authorization Specialist regarding any issues that arise with orders or changes to orders.
- ICD-9/10 and CPT coding a plus.
- Medicare, Medicaid, and private-payer practices and regulations.
