Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage internal and external physician scheduling to ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Check in infusion patients and verify demographic information to ensure accurate billing and insurance processing.
  • Manage incoming phone calls to the clinic, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, diagnostics, and treatments, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure that authorizations are obtained prior to treatment and that patients receive the necessary care and support.
  • Work closely with the authorization specialist to resolve any issues that arise with orders or changes to orders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization processes, and contracting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Essential Competencies:
  • Attendance is an essential job function.
  • Manage incoming calls into the Infusion Center, answering the phone within 3 rings professionally and courteously.
  • Communication with the Authorization Specialist regarding any issues that arise with orders or changes to orders.
  • ICD-9/10 and CPT coding a plus.
  • Medicare, Medicaid, and private-payer practices and regulations.
