The Senior Superintendent at Clark Construction Group is responsible for overseeing all field operations on a project to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight: Supervise the timely and cost-effective installation of the contracted work, either for the entire project or a specific scope, subcontractor, or portion of the project.
- Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training opportunities for Assistant Superintendents and Project/Office Engineers, and encourage staff training and development.
- Project Planning: Develop a plan for the sequence of work, develop a project schedule, and plan and organize project work to ensure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
- Contract Administration: Have a working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Scheduling: Know the scheduled delivery dates for all critical path material and equipment, and know the submittal schedule.
- Project Updates: Update the project schedule monthly and in accordance with contract documents.
- Cost Control: Control field costs for Clark and subcontract work, and supervise the field workforce to ensure all work is completed in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Productivity Monitoring: Schedule and monitor field productivity.
- Equipment Knowledge: Have a good working knowledge of equipment.
- Safety Program: Implement a safety program, conduct regular safety inspections, and take remedial action when required.
- Quality Control: Implement the company's safety policies and procedures and corporate QC policies and programs.
- Scope Resolution: Assist in resolving scope conflicts.
- Project Management: Participate in project management functions.
- Punch List Completion: Ensure the punch list is completed in a timely manner.
- Marketing Proposals: Participate in marketing proposals and presentations.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
- Experience: 8-10+ years of water/wastewater construction experience with a large-scale commercial contractor or equivalent industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Project Experience: Experience building federal or government projects successfully from start to finish.
- Construction Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead field operations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., OSHA).
- Clark Standards: Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams & followership, sets direction and executes.
