We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to engage in clinical research aimed at the development of innovative therapeutics. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams on a variety of scientific initiatives.

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Compensation: Based on Experience - Scientist: $40-45/hr; Associate Scientist: $35-40/hr.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

  • Concentrate on molecular projects with a strong focus on assay design, development, validation, and timely execution.
  • Conduct assays or analyses in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in the development of new methodologies as well as the enhancement of existing SOPs.
  • Support the creation and application of next-generation sequencing (NGS) scientific services to meet the Translational Research demands of our clients.
  • Independently design and execute experiments, ensuring accurate data analysis and presentation.
  • Deliver high-quality results while enhancing productivity metrics.
  • Collaborate with management and team members to establish project timelines and achieve key milestones.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff in molecular techniques, data analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Contribute to the establishment and refinement of all procedures and necessary SOP documentation.
  • Address and resolve scientific challenges as they arise.
  • Serve as a scientific resource for both external clients and internal teams as required.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and editing of contracts and grant applications as appropriate.
  • Support the writing and publication of scientific papers, abstracts, and chapters to uphold the company’s scientific reputation.
  • Present completed research at relevant scientific conferences and in publications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a PhD and postdoctoral experience in a laboratory that functions similarly to a core facility or clinical research environment.

OR

  • A Master’s degree with relevant industry experience, particularly in an NGS laboratory.
  • Strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Background in Oncology or Immunology is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an academic core or industry setting.
  • Alternatively, a PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related fields with postdoctoral laboratory experience.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology, genomics, or bioinformatics.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data effectively, along with report preparation skills.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion are essential.
  • Wet lab experience across the entire NGS workflow (Illumina or Ion Torrent), from library preparation to sequencing is highly preferred.
  • Experience with quantitative PCR (qPCR), digital droplet PCR (ddPCR), and NanoString is a plus.
  • Experience in DNA and RNA extraction from various sources is beneficial.
  • A solid understanding of current GLP and/or ISO/CAP/CLIA standards.
  • A combination of molecular biology wet lab and bioinformatics expertise is desired.
