Overview:


Under the guidance and oversight of a qualified Registered Nurse, the Maternal Care Technician is responsible for executing specific patient care tasks to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.

This role involves contributing insights to assist the RN in the planning and execution of patient care. The technician is expected to respond to urgent situations in accordance with established protocols.

Additionally, the technician participates in peri-operative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures by scrubbing in and performing supportive tasks that facilitate comprehensive peri-operative care.


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is necessary.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Successful completion of the Maternal Care Technician orientation and achievement of specified competencies during the probationary period.

Current BLS-Heart Saver certification is required.
