About the Role:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and compliance of the buildings, grounds, fixtures, and equipment of the facility. This includes ensuring that all life safety and environment of care standards are maintained in relation to regulatory agency requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, minor repairs, and electrical work.
  • Ensure that maintenance projects are completed timely, safely, and within budget.
  • Perform regular environment of care inspections to identify maintenance repair needs, safety concerns, and compliance issues.
  • Maintain facility safety records and ensure preventative maintenance and documentation are completed on all equipment and systems.
  • Lead a team of staff through hiring, orienting, performance assessment, and management to meet department goals.
  • Determine the need for equipment, materials, supplies, and order and maintain inventories.
  • Coordinate and supervise regulatory inspections of facilities with outside agencies.
  • Inspect completed work assignments to ensure all standards are met.
  • Plan and monitor maintenance budget and work to decrease costs while maintaining quality services.
  • Lead in all internal and external emergency management programs and respond to facility fire and disaster situations.
  • Manage outside service vendors and contractors and coordinate all work with external contractors as required.
  • Ensure that the MSDS database is up to date at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or technical field or two or more years college-level construction trade education preferred.
  • At least five years' experience in maintenance or facility operations required; health care facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard and safe maintenance practices, procedures, and tools in the general building/maintenance trades.
