The Ankeny Community School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Services Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our food service department. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with district and department guidelines
  • Direct and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe food preparation
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and labor
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve food service operations and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food service operations, preferably in a school setting
  • Proven track record of leading a team to achieve department goals
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Preferred Qualifications:
  • School food service experience of at least 3 years
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent
  • Experience in maintaining records, including production, invoices, and inventory
Working Environment:

The Nutrition Services Team Leader will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with kitchen staff, management, and other stakeholders. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and food safety.
