Job Summary

  • Handle cash register transactions involving sales and returns in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Project a positive image for Westlake Ace Hardware by providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming store environment.
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Clear checkout lines efficiently, minimizing wait times and ensuring a smooth customer experience.
  • Answer calls and pages promptly, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist customers with product location and store layout, providing recommendations and suggestions to enhance their shopping experience.

Register Operations

  • Follow cash register procedures, accurately processing transactions and handling customer payments.
  • Balance register drawer, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.
  • Implement store promotions at the checkout, effectively communicating sales and discounts to customers.

Front End Appearance

  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring a visually appealing and inviting store environment.
  • Stock and rotate merchandise as needed, ensuring an adequate supply of products and maintaining a well-stocked store.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked, including paper products, cleaning supplies, and other essential items.
  • Assist with front-end decoration, contributing to the overall visual appeal of the store.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and climb as needed, with a focus on providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Compensation

$12.00 per hour.
