Job Overview

We are looking for a proficient Building Control Systems Engineer with significant expertise in developing control systems for buildings. The ideal candidate will take charge of the design, execution, and upkeep of advanced control systems tailored for diverse building functionalities.

This position demands a robust technical foundation in building automation and a strong capability to integrate various systems to enhance building efficiency.


Primary Responsibilities:

System Development and Integration:
Design and develop building control systems, encompassing HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management solutions. Ensure smooth integration with pre-existing infrastructure and systems.

Requirements Analysis:

Collaborate with stakeholders, including facility managers, architects, and clients, to gather their requirements and convert them into comprehensive system specifications.


Installation and Configuration:
Supervise the setup and configuration of building control systems. Ensure systems are accurately calibrated and function as expected.

Testing and Quality Assurance:
Create and implement testing protocols to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability. Identify and rectify any issues or inconsistencies.

Ongoing Support and Maintenance:
Provide continuous support for building control systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Conduct regular maintenance and updates to guarantee optimal system performance.

Documentation:
Develop and maintain thorough documentation for system designs, configurations, and operational procedures. Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders as necessary.

Energy Efficiency:
Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability within building systems. Monitor system performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all systems adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements.

Training and Development:
Educate facility staff and end-users on system operations and best practices. Offer technical support and guidance as required.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, specifically focusing on building control systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.


Technical Proficiencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building control systems and protocols (e.g., BACnet, LON, Modbus).
  • Expertise in system design, configuration, and integration.
  • Experience with control system software and hardware.
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
