Job Overview

We are seeking an Associate Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Maryland or Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing professional-level fire protection engineering services, including life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, and fire alarm design.

Responsibilities
  • Perform fire protection engineering services under the direction of a P.E. or experienced consultant
  • Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports for assigned tasks
  • Assist in resolving design problems through field investigations, detailed design work, and coordination of specific design aspects
  • Conduct and document building code analyses, egress analyses, and fire detection and alarm systems reviews
  • Apply engineering calculations for size requirements, means of egress, and sprinkler system water supplies
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or related field
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for advancing the science of safety and exceeding client expectations
