Electrical Engineer Job Description

S-E-A Corp is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Baltimore. As a key member of our forensic analysis team, you will conduct investigations and analyze failures and accidents involving electrical equipment, products, and wiring systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations and analyze failures and accidents involving electrical equipment, products, and wiring systems.
  • Perform electrical evaluations of failed and damaged components to determine the root cause of the failure.
  • Apply electrical engineering principles in accordance with industry standards to investigation analysis.
  • Conduct unbiased field and lab investigations for various types of clients.
  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships, and promote self to client groups.
  • Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms both verbally and in writing.
  • Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Must have P.E. registration through testing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-academic electrical engineering experience, more experience preferred.
  • Background in power systems, controls, and NEC knowledge beneficial.
  • Interest in fire-related investigations (we will train).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Public speaking experience a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • 25% travel, primarily by vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs.
  • Ability to remove large and/or heavy artifacts from fire scenes.
  • Ability to carry equipment (shovels, camera, evidence case, etc.) up flights of stairs.
  • Ability to shovel out fires and lift fire debris in conjunction with investigations, for up to 3 to 4 hours at a time.
  • Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and structures and climb ladders.
  • Ability to drive to site locations at varying hours and fly on airplanes.
