About the Role:

As a Fire Alarm Inspector and Technician at Aerotek, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections and functional testing of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and local standards. This role requires a strong understanding of fire protection systems, including fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and functional testing of fire alarm systems
  • Test and troubleshoot initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components
  • Assist in inspections and testing of interconnected systems, including elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, tampers, and flows
  • Assist senior technicians with the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems
  • Shadow experienced technicians during site visits to observe and learn industry best practices in system management and servicing
  • Engage in training sessions and workshops to develop foundational knowledge of fire protection system components, technologies, and operational procedures
  • Participate in routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of fire alarm systems as needed
  • Document all service activities, including inspection results and repairs, and complete testing reports with noted deficiencies
  • Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers for accurate quoting of recommended repairs
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to learn advanced fire alarm system technologies and best practices
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all on-site activities and training exercises to ensure a secure working environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, actively contributing to project tasks and fostering a positive learning environment

Requirements:
  • Troubleshooting systems
  • Performing necessary repairs
  • Proficiency with PCs, including MS Excel/Word, and iPhone apps
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and tools up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in unusual and difficult positions
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to obtain and retain required licenses
  • 5+ years of experience inspecting fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, and extinguishers
  • NICET Level certification 2
