About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring a safe operating room environment and proper equipment function.
  • Assist surgeons and registered nurses in the operating room, demonstrating expertise in sterile and aseptic technique.
  • Perform surgical scrub duties across multiple services, maintaining a sterile field and ensuring team members maintain a sterile environment.
  • Participate in the planning and setup of instruments, supplies, and surgical drapes, providing optimal accessibility during procedures.
  • Assist in the proper identification, preparation, handling, and labeling of surgical specimens.
  • Actively participate in the planning and setup of instruments, supplies, and surgical drapes, providing optimal accessibility during procedures.
  • Recognize and modify scrubbing procedures based on pertinent information, communicating with the surgical team and responding to surgical emergencies.
  • Inventory, receive, and store supplies under the direction of Surgical Services leadership.
  • Serve as a role model for new hires, on-the-job trainees, and other teammates, participating in teaching, guiding, and evaluating the performance of peers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing Program, or Military Training Program in Surgical Technology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through The National Center of Competency Testing
  • 3+ years of professional experience
