Job Summary:

Mortenson is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and details to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Implement and manage the pre-construction quality plan, including obtaining and maintaining necessary construction permits.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including material tracking lists, project test and inspection listings, and non-conformance reports.
  • Manage and coordinate testing and inspection processes, including implementing a three-phase inspection system and establishing reporting formats and protocols.
  • Coordinate submittals, including setting up registers, preparing project-specific transmittal forms, and expediting submittals to ensure timely material deliveries.
  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders, including defining and implementing procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documents.
  • Responsible for mentoring, managing, and evaluating the performance of field engineers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years related construction experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
  • Current driver's license.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
