Project/Construction Management Intern

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project/Construction Management Intern to join our team in the New Orleans, LA area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the project team in establishing project schedules and work tasks, ensuring timely completion and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Support the planning and estimating stage of projects, incorporating efficient, safe, and economical form systems into project designs.
  • Prepare accurate formwork layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/vendors and subcontractors during the estimating phase, fostering strong relationships and ensuring project success.
  • Learn and understand document control procedures, including ordering and accepting deliveries, surveys, quantity control, daily reports, safety reports, and production reports.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating material and equipment schedules, ensuring timely delivery and project completion.
  • Monitor the safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve concerns regarding structural design with the project team, ensuring project integrity and quality.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested to support the organization's goals.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, with basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM Modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, material deliveries, and jobsite productivities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling materials and equipment, as well as supervising jobsite productivity and personnel, is a plus.
